Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry (m/f)

In the Analytical Sciences department at our site on the EMBL campus in Heidelberg, Germany, we have an immediate opening for a full time Senior Scientist Mass Spectrometry (m/f).

Position:
We are looking for an experienced proteomics scientist who will employ mass spectrometry for the identification and quantification of proteins, the analysis of post-translational modifications and a range of chemical proteomics assays. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a team of analytical scientists and will be a critical member of multi-disciplinary project teams focusing on Epigenetics. The position will report to the Director of Analytical Sciences.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a relevant field and has additional 3+ years industry or academic experience. A demonstrated track record of proficiency in developing and implementing quantitative mass spectrometry is essential. Experience in the mass spectrometric analysis of post-translational modifications and basic knowledge in Epigenetics would be a plus. Previous experience in supervising junior col- leagues would be advantageous.

Wir suchen für unseren Standort auf dem EMBL Campus in Heidelberg ab sofort eine/n Biologie- oder Chemielaboranten (m/w), BTA oder CTA (m/w) im Bereich Biochemie, zunächst befristet für zwei Jahre.

Aufgabengebiet:

• Durchführung von biochemischen Assays für Wirkstoff-Kandidaten, die auf der von Cellzome entwickelten Kinobeads™- / Episphere™- Technologie beruhen
• Durchführung von Affinitätsaufreinigungen und Analyse von Proteinen aus Zellen und Gewebe
  (auch mittels immunologischer Methoden)
• Organisation der Laborinfrastruktur

Voraussetzungen:
Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung als Biologie- oder Chemielaborant/in bzw. BTA oder CTA (m/w). Berufserfahrung in Proteinbiochemie sowie mit immunologischen Assays ist von Vorteil. Englisch- kenntnisse sind erforderlich.
